Frequently Asked Questions
In this section, we will answer some of the questions most frequently
asked about our services. If you don't find your answer here, feel free
to contact us. We'll be happy to assist you.
What is the FTP server's address?
It can be reached at 24.158.104.52. We do suggest that you use command line
FTP, or a scripted utility, such as FTP Control, to access the site. It is anonymous
FTP. Although our file harvester removes any uploaded files very quickly, we
suggest that you encrypt any sensitive data.
What is the modem phone number?
The BBS system can be accessed by dialing 423-357-8354.
It is a closed system. We will have to give you a user ID and password
to sign on. Several file transfer protocols are supported. If you can, we
recommend using YMODEM or ZMODEM.
Can you process Excel or Access files?
We normally prefer to operate with tab delimited files
in conjunction with Microsoft products. They are smaller and more portable.
However, we can directly read or produce many application specific file formats.
There can be processing delays and manual handling fees for some file types. Contact
your sales representative for further information.
Can you process mainframe data files?
We can automatically deal with many types of mainframe
data sets. We can accept or produce files in EBCDIC format.
How do you receive and send the data?
Our normal, preferred routes are through FTP, direct
modem connection, or via email. We can send or receive files through any
of these means. We do have other options for more specialized needs, such
as ZIP disks, tape drives, Bisync modems, etc.
What is the turnaround time for a file?
A typical transaction will be on its way to the recipient
within 10 minutes of the receipt of the file.
What happens to my files if my account runs out of
money?
Files which cannot be processed due to a lack of funds
are placed in a special holding area. When the account has been recharged,
the files will be processed as normal.
How can I recharge my account?
Through PayPal, we accept major credit cards and electronic checks.
You can, of course, send a check or money order through normal mail.
How can I be approved for open account billing?
Ask your sales representative. In general, we
will review your account history to determine if we can grant an account
status upgrade. See the pricing page for a full explanation of the account
levels.
